Let us pray in the words of Steven Shakespeare:
God of truth uncovered, you trace the sparrow’s flight, and plumb the secret places of the heart: bring our fear and conflict into the light of your presence; help us to lose our hollow life and find our way to you.[1]
This morning’s gospel passage is one of my favorites. I’ve preached on this text so many times; I think I know it by heart. I’ve certainly taken it into my heart, and it has served as a guidepost for my life and my ministry.
